National Meeting Programming

The major responsibility of the long range planning committee (LRPC) is the organization of the technical symposia held in conjunction with national ACS meetings. Symposia for national meetings are selected  one year in advance of the meeting. The LRPC works closely with the National Medicinal Chemistry Symposium Program Chairman in selecting topics that do not compete. A second function of the LRPC is to work with the Executive Committee, and the EFMC, AFMC and Foreign Societies Liaison to develop symposia for contribution at medicinal chemistry society meetings outside the US, and to facilitate symposia at national ACS meetings hosted by ACSMEDI.

How To Submit Symposium Ideas Or Organize A Symposium

If there is a topic you would like to see covered at an upcoming National Meeting, send your suggestion to the Program Chair or to any member of the Long Range Planning Committee.

If you would like to organize a symposium, please contact the Program Chair to obtain a Symposium Proposal form.

National Medicinal Chemistry Symposium

The Division is responsible for planning the National Medicinal Chemistry Symposium in even-numbered years.  The 35th National Medicinal Chemistry Symposium was held in Chicago in 2016, and the 36th National Medicinal Chemistry Symposium is planned for Nashville in 2018.  The Division is currently soliciting proposals to host the 37th National Medicinal Chemistry Symposium in 2020.  Traditionally, an Industrial Co-Chair and an Academic Co-Chair work together to organize the meeting.  If you are interested in submitting a proposal for 2020, click here for the form.  And click here for a list of previous organizers/hosts.
